Upgrading my Caddy

Post by ColinG »

Good Morning All,

I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for advice regarding upgrading my Caddy Life 5 seat 1.4TSI petrol 2018 model. I've recently been looking for a replacement vehicle because I'm finding that as I get older, I need some additional levels of comfort and convenience.
I did this reluctantly because I really love my Caddy. So I thought it may be possible to have some of features that I'd like to have to be retrofitted but so I thought that this forum may be able to help me.
Essentially I'd like to:
Add heating and folding inwards to my door mirrors.
Replace my already heated faux leather (plastic) seats with heated fabric seats.
Add electrically opening and closing (preferably with a hands-free kicking motion) to my rear cargo area door.
And to somehow soften the harsh ride from the rear live axle, leaf spring suspension, without major engineering work - perhaps better dampers/bump stops or whatever else can is achievable.

Also, after over six years of ownership i'm still confused as to what is the best tyre pressure I should be using based on just the two of us and no luggage. Door post label says 44psi, which seems a bit high to me.

If any or all of this is doable, then it's a much better option than to put yet another oversized, overweight SUV on the road.

Best Regards
Colin
